1. 5 Core Engineering Factors Affecting Custom Embroidery Pricing

Custom embroidery is quoted per project rather than a flat catalog price. Our engineering team evaluates your artwork or physical sample across 5 transparent dimensions:

Pricing Dimension	Engineering Calculation Logic	Cost-Optimization Tip for Buyers
1. Stitch Count & Coverage Area	Machine runtime is driven by total stitch count (e.g., 8,000 vs. 35,000 stitches) and fill ratio	Use twill or felt appliqué for large background areas to reduce stitch count and weight
2. Craft Type & Multi-Craft Complexity	Flat embroidery is baseline; toothbrush pile (1.0–10.0 mm with TPU heat-lock & shearing), chenille loops (2.0–6.0 mm), backing-free, or multi-craft hybrids are calculated by process steps	Use toothbrush or chenille on focal motifs and pair with flat satin or cord stitch for micro-text
3. Thread, Base Fabric & Backing	Coats / Sakura brand threads (sweat & sunlight resistant, stable luster); backings include backing-free, heat-seal glue, sew-on border, Velcro, or patented reusable soft adhesive (CN222896500U)	Choose backing-free for babywear & stretch tees; choose heat-seal or Velcro patches for outerwear & bags
4. Laser Cutting & Post-Finishing	Direct cut-panel embroidery vs. standalone patches (optical laser cutting, merrowed borders, single/multi-level pile shearing)	Stock standalone patches for core brand logos used across multiple garment SKUs
5. Order Quantity Tiers (MOQ)	Standard MOQ is 300 pcs (below 300 pcs reviewed case by case); 1,000 / 5,000 / 10,000+ pcs amortize digitizing and setup costs for lower unit pricing	Combine multiple colorways sharing the same digitizing file to reach higher volume tiers

2. Sampling Lead Time & Sample Fee Refund Policy

Service Item	Dobest Standard Policy	Deliverables & Approval
1. Existing Swatch Reference	Request existing factory swatches to inspect toothbrush pile height, backing-free softness, or chenille loop density	Physical reference swatches shipped via express courier (freight collect)
2. Custom Prototype Turnaround	Standard crafts: 24–48 hours; complex or multi-craft combinations: 3–4 working days	Digitizing + dedicated machine stitch-out + macro HD photos + physical sample delivery
3. Free Sampling & Bulk Credit Rule	Up to 3 simple samples are free; complex sample setup fees are credited toward bulk orders meeting our 300-piece MOQ	Bulk production is strictly inspected and released against the signed Golden Sample
