This piece is worked in cord embroidery combined with tassel embroidery: a thicker thread is first coiled and secured along the strokes of the hand-written lettering, building raised lines that resemble rope strands and forming sweeping three-colour brushstrokes; a tassel base line is then stitched separately at the foot of the strokes and the loops are cut to draw out a run of long fringe. The coiled lines are full and dimensional, the hanging fringe swings lightly, and the two techniques set stillness against movement.

Available options

Adjustments can be made to suit the desired effect: lines can be thicker and more dimensional (heavier cord or doubled thread), or finer and smoother; fringe length can be chosen within the usual range, with longer fringe giving a floatier look and shorter fringe a neater, more hard-wearing finish; thread options include rayon, polyester or cotton; and beyond denim, other heavy fabrics such as canvas and twill can be used as the base.

Applications

Suited to accent detailing on denim jackets, jeans and denim skirts, and also to accessories such as denim bags, crossbody straps and chest and shoulder straps. The pairing of three-colour lines with long fringe is often seen in streetwear, vintage and resort styles, and suits apparel and bags that call for a distinctive identity.

Customisation process

Patterns are developed from your artwork or sample. MOQ is 300 pcs; sampling for three simple designs is free, while combined techniques (cord + tassel) carry a sampling fee that is deductible once the MOQ is reached; standard sampling takes 24–48 hours, with complex work around 3–4 working days; bulk production runs 5–10 working days as confirmed by the production schedule, and urgent orders can be prioritised.

Production capacity

Dobest operates more than 30 specialised computerised embroidery machines and can run combined work such as cord and tassel at the same time, in a 3,000 ㎡ facility with an annual capacity of about 1.5 million pieces. The tassel section is trimmed, combed and set by hand; long-fringe products are inspected flat before shipment and rolled for transport where necessary to limit crushing and creasing.
